Leadership Institute
Course DescriptionBecoming a Leader of Character This course, developed by the National Center for Leadership, offers a unique opportunity to address not only key leader competencies needed in the 21st century, but what is so often lacking in today’s leadership and in the development of leaders—becoming a leader of character prepared to serve in the “crucible of power.” It will be taught by senior leaders, people who have the experience of wrestling with the difficult issues of living out a Christian worldview in the marketplace and the challenge of producing results through leading teams. The learning is focused on key areas such as growing other leaders, building a healthy organization, transforming and engaging culture, and building the organization team. There will also be personal assessment and opportunities to more deeply understand vocational choices, keeping a balance, and self awareness. Based upon central principles which are drawn from the best contemporary research, the ancient wisdom of scripture and classical thinking, and the examples of great leaders who have lived out their beliefs in tough times, you will be learning as a cohort—a team of people at a similar place in their career, preparing for the next phase of life. You can expect significant experiential and collaborative opportunities in the team and in applying principles to your own work issues. You can also expect time spent in one-on-one mentoring sessions with the course teachers and mentors who will share their life experiences with you. Advance enrollment required. |
